City Water and Well Water Need Different Fixes

Homes in our area get water from two very different places. That is why we ask about your water first and never sell one system to everyone.

Danbury city water

Moderately hard, with a chlorine taste

68–86ppm hardness in Danbury's 2025 water report (moderately hard, about 4 to 5 grains per gallon)
  • Enough hardness to leave some white spots and scale over time. A softener is your choice, and we will be honest about it.
  • A carbon filter can remove chlorine taste and smell.
  • Reverse osmosis gives you cleaner water to drink and cook with.

Danbury's Water Company With Nothing to Hide

Danbury Water Pros started in 2026 with a simple idea: buying a water system should not feel like buying a used car. Too many homeowners get a high quote, a pushy visit, and no clear answer about what is really in their water.

We do it differently. We listen first, explain your options in plain words, and give you one clear price. We only work in Greater Danbury, so we know the difference between city water on Main Street and a well in New Fairfield.

Hi, I'm Jeffrey, the owner of Danbury Water Pros. For years I worked in home improvement, on kitchens, bathrooms and countertops. In many homes, I noticed the same thing. People cared about their homes, but they didn't think much about their water, or they didn't know where to start. When they did ask, a big company often sold them equipment at a very high price. I learned that with the right knowledge, you can get the right system at a fair price. That's why I started Danbury Water Pros: to give my neighbors honest advice and a clear price.

  • Custom water plansYour system is based on your home and your water, not a sales script.

Water Filtration Questions From Danbury Homeowners

Do I need a water softener on Danbury city water?

It depends on what bothers you. Danbury's 2025 water report shows hardness of about 68 to 86 ppm (about 4 to 5 grains per gallon). The U.S. Geological Survey calls that moderately hard. Some city homes are happy with a whole-home carbon filter for chlorine taste and smell, plus reverse osmosis for drinking water. If white spots and scale bother you, a softener helps. If your home is on a well, a softener is often needed. We will help you decide on the phone, using your own water report.

What is the difference between whole-home filtration and reverse osmosis?

A whole-home system treats all the water coming into your house, for showers, laundry and every tap. Reverse osmosis sits under your kitchen sink and makes very clean water for drinking and cooking at its own faucet. Many families use both.

My home is on a well. Where do we start?

With a phone call. Tell us what you see: orange or brown stains, a rotten-egg smell, sediment, or white scale from hard water. Already have your well water test? Send it to us, and we will recommend the right system with one clear price.

Who installs the system, and do you pull permits?

Every system is installed by a licensed Connecticut plumber. Danbury Water Pros is a registered Home Improvement Contractor (HIC Reg. #HIC.0707382) and carries insurance. Permits are pulled when your town requires them.

Will someone come to my house to sell me something?

No. The consultation is done by phone, so there is no sales visit. The only visit is the installation, which most often takes one day. You get your price in writing and can take your time to decide.
